Past Initiatives
Valor originated from an independent living facility for youth aged out of foster care in 2013. Our beautifully decorated facility was located near public transportation routes, attractions, and post-secondary schools. Our dedicated, full-time live in house director bonded with residents and established a mothering relationship with youth. Valor Campus Life provided youth with an awesome transitional experience, entailing self– sufficiency programs, fun outings & cookouts, educational trips, and holiday & birthday celebrations. Valor Living Foundation was the only establishment in Central Florida that housed mothers with children enrolled in extended foster care. We partnered with a local licensed daycare facility that picked up and returned children to our facility to accommodate working/school attending mothers. Our focus was to provide housing and support for youth transitioning out of foster care into adulthood. With the help of our partners, Goodwill, and Foundation for Foster Care, our organization released responsible, productive, coherent adults back into society. Our future goal is to establish a facility for youth aged out of foster care in the Polk County, FL area.
